Your thesis came back with an AI score in the 60s and the deadline is days away? Don't rewrite the whole thing.
AI scores are calculated paragraph by paragraph, so bring them down paragraph by paragraph. Here is how to find the problem paragraphs, fix them and check the result.
1. Check for free: find the paragraphs that raise the score
Open Kiai, paste your thesis (up to 100,000 characters) and run the AI check:
- You get two scores, one modeled on CNKI and one on VIP (the two detection services Chinese universities use), each with a risk level: high, medium, low or none
- Every paragraph is colored: red for high risk, orange for medium, blue for low, green for none, with both percentages shown
- Without signing in you get 5 free checks a day; signed in, checks are unlimited
The scores are our model's estimates in the style of CNKI and VIP, not their official results. Your university's official check is what counts.
2. Rewrite only the red and orange paragraphs
Rewriting everything takes time and can break paragraphs that were fine. Work by risk level: red first, then orange; touch up blue paragraphs; leave green ones alone.
The two scores often disagree. Start with paragraphs that are high on both, then focus on the one your university uses.
3. Five ways to fix a paragraph yourself
- Replace general statements with concrete data, cases and sources.
- Describe your own research process: how you chose the sample, what went wrong and why you handled it that way.
- Cut stock phrases such as "in conclusion" or "with the rapid development of…" and state the point directly.
- Mix long and short sentences instead of repeating one structure.
- Qualify your conclusions with their scope and limits.
4. Short on time? Rewrite by paragraph in one click
From the check results, start the rewrite: only risky paragraphs change, low-risk ones stay as written, and each rewritten paragraph is shown side by side with the original, with deletions in red, additions in green and both scores before and after.
- Two modes, standard and deep; if a paragraph's risk level doesn't change, try deep mode
- Signed in, upload a whole Word, UniDoc, Markdown or TXT file and download it in the same format, with headings, tables and equations left as they are
- Signed in, the first 5,000 characters rewritten each day are free; after that, 1 credit per 2 characters actually rewritten. Each paragraph can be regenerated free 5 times within 7 days
5. One test of our own
A 2-page paper with 44 paragraphs: the check flagged 14, and rewriting them took about 5 seconds.
- Before: 68.9% CNKI-style, 58.8% VIP-style
- After: 1.3% CNKI-style, 2.1% VIP-style
The before scores are our model's estimates; the after scores come from the latest rewriter on the same document. Both are estimates, not official reports.
Checklist before you submit
- Keep the original draft and save the rewrite separately
- Check every fact, number, term and citation; if a reference entry or direct quote was changed, restore it
- Run the check again and compare both scores before and after
- Rely on your university's official check
