Make Doubao and DeepSeek Deliver Well-Formatted Word and PDF Files with OmniDoc
Chinese LLMs write strong content but lack a tool that produces professional documents. Connect OmniDoc to an MCP-capable AI client and Doubao, DeepSeek and other models can create editable, well-formatted Word and PDF files. Setup steps and a before-and-after comparison.
Make Doubao and DeepSeek Deliver Well-Formatted Word and PDF Files: Connect OmniDoc to Your AI Client
Chinese large language models already write strong content, but what they usually hand back is chat text or Markdown. Paste it into Word and the headings, tables, equations and images all need reworking. The problem is not the model's intelligence; it is the
lack of a tool that produces professional documents directly
. The OmniDoc document interface provides exactly that missing piece.
The idea: the model writes, OmniDoc builds the document
OmniDoc for desktop ships with OmniDocAI.exe in its installation folder, a standard local MCP server (STDIO). Any AI client that supports MCP can connect to it, whether the model behind it is Doubao, DeepSeek, Qwen or another. Once connected, the model can:
create editable native documents from semantic blocks such as headings, paragraphs, tables, equations and figures;
look at the layout result and page images, then fix problems block by block;
set line spacing, indents, Latin and East Asian fonts and font sizes in one pass, and apply journal and thesis templates;
export Word, PDF and lossless HTML, or publish the document as a web address.
How to connect
Download and install OmniDoc for desktop from https://download.omnidoc.top/ (Windows / Ubuntu, free).
In your AI client (for example Cherry Studio or Trae, which support MCP), add an MCP server of type STDIO: set the command to the full path of OmniDocAI.exe and the argument to --mcp.
Save, then ask the assistant to call omnidoc_get_udoc_schema; if it returns the document schema, the connection works.
Give it a task, for example: “Use OmniDoc to write a quarterly business review with a three-line table and a bar chart, and export it to Word.”
Where to add MCP servers differs between clients, so follow your client's documentation. Ready-made configurations for Codex, Claude Code and Claude Desktop are at https://download.omnidoc.top/ai-interface/OmniDoc-AI-Interface .
Runs locally, no API key
Creating, editing, layout checks, templates and exports all run on your computer, with no network, no sign-in and no credits. Only document translation and web publishing require an OmniDoc account. Model usage costs are set by your AI client and model provider, not by OmniDoc.
