Thesis Formatting Without the All-Nighters: Journal and Thesis Templates in OmniDoc Finishing the writing is only half of a paper. The other half is formatting: headings in a specific typeface and size, body text at 12 pt with 1.5 line spacing and a first-line indent, consecutively numbered figure and table captions, and references with hanging indents. Adjusting all of that paragraph by paragraph is slow and error-prone. Since version 1.06, OmniDoc includes templates for Chinese journal papers and theses , and lets AI set line spacing, paragraph spacing, indents, Latin and East Asian fonts and font sizes directly. What the templates take care of Body text in Times New Roman paired with SimSun, justified, with a two-character first-line indent. Headings in SimHei; you choose the section numbering (for example “1 Introduction”, “1.1 Background”). Three-line academic tables with the caption above; figure captions below, numbered automatically. Centred, automatically numbered equations; cite them in the text and the numbers update when equations are added or removed. References numbered and laid out with hanging indents in the GB/T 7714 style. Let the AI fix the formatting in one pass An AI assistant connected to the OmniDoc document interface changes formatting by block or by scope instead of rewriting your content. For example: Set all body text to 12 pt SimSun with an exact line spacing of 20 pt and no space before or after; make level-1 headings 16 pt SimHei with 24 pt space before, each starting on a new page. The assistant applies the change and reports the layout check: headings stranded at the bottom of a page, figures separated from their captions, or large blank areas at the end of a page. When everything looks right, export Word for submission, or a PDF that matches the editor exactly. Started in Word? Import it Import your .docx into OmniDoc, keep adjusting the formatting in the editor or with your AI assistant, and export Word again. After importing a complex document, check fonts and page breaks once. Get started Download OmniDoc for desktop (Windows / Ubuntu, free): https://download.omnidoc.top/ . Pick a template when creating a document, or ask your AI assistant to call the template tool and generate a paper skeleton with your title, authors and abstract already filled in. - 1 -
