OmniDoc 1.07: About 9 ms Typing on Large Documents, Word Export Cut from 26 s to 11 s, and a macOS Version OmniDoc desktop 1.07 was released on 18 October 2026 for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu. The theme of this release is typing that keeps up, and printing what you see : large documents edit noticeably faster, printouts match the screen, Word round-trips are more faithful, and OmniDoc ships on macOS for the first time. 1.07 in numbers Table 1 Key improvements in OmniDoc 1.07 Area In 1.07 Typing in large documents About 9 ms from keypress to laid-out text; no more stall on the first edit after opening Exporting a large Word document Down from 26 seconds to 11 seconds Platforms Windows 10/11 x64, macOS 12+ (Intel; Apple silicon via Rosetta 2), Ubuntu 22.04 amd64 Price Downloading, installing, local editing and format conversion are free, with no sign-in New printing: what you see is what you print Ctrl+P now opens OmniDoc's own print window. It saves to PDF by default and can also send straight to a printer. The preview is the PDF that will be printed, with selectable text, and the result matches the screen, complete with bookmarks, a clickable table of contents and comments. Direct printing currently works on Windows; on Ubuntu the system print dialog is used. More faithful Word round-trips Equations are laid out by Word's rules, and LaTeX survives a round-trip through Word. Numbered equations and their references come back from Word. Closing a document with unsaved changes asks whether to save; read-only Word files are saved as a copy. Markdown and everyday polish Markdown supports Mermaid diagrams, automatic links, superscript and subscript, and [TOC] tables of contents. The EXE edition gets a top-level entry in the Windows 11 context menu, and File Explorer previews more Word files. An OmniDoc AI summary appears above search results, the reading center has a new interface, and download history survives restarts. Print preview zooms and stays sharp, and literature Q&A can edit the translation directly. For AI users: four formats in one call When documents are written through OmniDoc's AI interface (MCP), a single call now produces the .udoc, HTML, Word and PDF together, and the exported PDF matches the desktop print. The AI interface page installs OmniDoc into Claude and Cursor in one click, and documents the AI writes can be shared as a public link in one step. On Windows you can also install from the Microsoft Store; the Store version follows Microsoft's review and update schedule. Basic local editing needs no account; cloud, translation, AI and publishing features need an account and a network connection and may have quotas or charges. - 1 -
