OmniDoc Web Translate: Side-by-Side Page Translation, Bilingual Video Subtitles and Selection Translation for Edge and Chrome Full-page machine translation tends to replace the original text, so you lose the exact wording and terminology; copying text into a translation site means switching back and forth. The OmniDoc Web Translate extension puts the translation right next to the original on the page you are reading. It is listed in both the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and the Chrome Web Store, and the browser handles installation and updates. What it does Table 1 Main features of OmniDoc Web Translate Feature Details Bilingual web pages Original and translation shown together, so you can check the source wording while reading articles, news or documentation Bilingual video subtitles Original and translated subtitles on supported video pages, useful for courses and lectures Selection and hover translation Translate just the word, sentence or paragraph you select or hover over Input box translation Translate text in page input boxes to help write emails, comments and messages in another language Several translation sources Choose Google, Bing, Tencent Translate or OmniDoc AI Site rules Set “always translate” or “never translate” for sites you visit often How it treats your data It reads the text needed for a translation only when you start one, or when a site rule you enabled triggers it. It keeps no history of translated sites and does not send site names, domains, titles or full URLs as separate fields; nothing is used for ad targeting or cross-site tracking. “Always translate / never translate” rules stay on your device; they are not uploaded or synced. With an online translation source, the text to translate is sent to the chosen service over an encrypted connection, so take care with sensitive content. Get started in three steps Open https://download.omnidoc.top/extension , choose Edge or Chrome, and click Get or Add to Chrome on the official store page. Pin OmniDoc from the browser's extensions menu. Open the page you want to read, pick the target language and translation source, and read the translation beside the original. Refresh pages that were already open. Beyond web pages: full-document translation The extension is made for reading as you go. To translate a whole PDF, Word or PowerPoint file and keep its layout, use OmniDoc document translation instead.
