Translate SRT and ASS Subtitles: Line-by-Line Bilingual Subtitles, Even for Videos Without Captions Online courses, lectures, documentaries and meeting recordings often come with subtitles in one language only. Copying subtitle text into a translation website and pasting it back easily breaks numbering and timecodes, and a sentence split across two cues comes back disjointed. OmniDoc translates SRT and ASS subtitle files directly and returns a subtitle file you can load straight into a player or video editor. Two output modes Table 1 Subtitle output modes Mode Result Best for Bilingual (default) Each cue shows the source line and its translation Language learning, checking a translation Translation only Only the target language Watching, publishing the video Step by step Sign in at omnidoc.top and upload the .srt or .ass file (use UTF-8 for text files). Choose the target language and the output mode. For dialogue, pick the Casual style; for documentaries and lectures, General or Academic. Turn on context-aware translation so names and terms stay consistent from cue to cue. Start the job, download the subtitle file and give it the same name as the video so players load it automatically. Keep names and terms consistent Add fixed translations for people, brands and course-specific terms to a glossary and select it when you translate; the whole subtitle file then uses them consistently. Each entry can be case-sensitive or not. No subtitle file? If you only have the audio or video, OmniDoc's media service can transcribe it first and then translate.
